The Rouse residence was a delightful and
rewarding project that transformed a 1950’s
Swiss chalet style home into a contemporary,
highly functional resort home. With a view of
the golf course and distant mountains, the new
covered porch and its fireplace, has become the
most popular area in the home. Built on a steep
slope with the septic system just below the
house, a lot of the addition was cantilevered
six feet beyond the original walls. A new master
suite on the main level completed the renovated
floor space and created a very functional living
environment for entertaining and relaxing in the
North Carolina High Country.
